Why essential oil soaps are made for you

Industrial soaps found in supermarkets are very often made from synthetic bases, synthetic fragrances and harsh surfactants that strip the skin more than they cleanse it. The result: skin that feels tight, dry, sometimes irritated in the long run.
Our soaps, on the other hand, are enriched with genuine essential oils from plants grown and distilled on our estate, at the heart of the Valensole Plateau. Each essential oil brings its own benefits: lavandin soothes and relaxes, thyme purifies and cleanses, while olive oil nourishes and protects the skin's natural hydrolipidic film.

Unlike conventional soaps, often formulated primarily for lather and shelf life, our artisan soaps favour a gentle plant-based base (olive oil, coconut, shea) that respects the balance of every skin type, with no unnecessary additives.

The name “Louys” comes from
the founder's son

By Louys was born from a simple conviction: the finest things come from those who take the time to do them well. Rooted in the landscapes of the Valensole plateau, the brand was founded in the spirit of Domaine Demol — a family of producers who, for several generations, have farmed the land with patience and rigour.

But By Louys doesn't stop at the estate's boundaries. It's a living selection, guided by taste and honesty: oils, honeys, flavours chosen for what they have to say, wherever they come from. Every product tells a story of soil, season and know-how.

Tasted, approved, or rejected

Every product is tasted and approved before joining the selection. We set aside anything we wouldn't buy ourselves. You no longer need to compare or decode labels: organic, free from synthetic pesticides for our own produce, or chosen from real French producers, always at a fair price.

Some come directly from Domaine Demol, on the Valensole plateau, where our family has been farming the land for several generations. For the rest, we go out into the field to find producers we know and trust.

Every product is tasted by Aurélie before it's sold: anything that doesn't taste as promised never joins our selection. When the estate's production isn't enough, we go out into the field to find a producer whose working methods we consider respectable.
